From May to early October 2024, Impact Hub Athens and WWF Hellas led a powerful anti-litter campaign as part of the 20TonnesChallenge, mobilizing communities across Greece for 14 impactful beach clean-ups! These efforts, under the REMEDIES project and WWF Greece « Adopt a Beach » initiative, removed over 322 kg of plastic and 235 kg of other waste from beaches in Mykonos, Preveza, Poros, Crete, Rinia Island, Athens, Thessaloniki, Patra, Kalamata, and Chios. đŹđȘ
The campaign also featured the Plastic Fantastic Webinar, engaging over 30 volunteers and environmental advocates to discuss plastic identification and sustainable waste innovations. Reaching 1,000+ people, this initiative has laid the groundwork for upcoming campaigns in France, Italy, Albania, and Slovenia.
