The world’s largest catamaran, designed by the Art Explora foundation, is about to sail across the Mediterranean with a unique concept of a traveling cultural festival. From Malta to Beirut, passing through Marseille – where it will be grandly inaugurated in June – the museum-boat will carry a promise of art for all, with a myriad of free events.

This is the largest catamaran ever built! With its 47 meters long and its sail designed by the artist Laure Prouvost, the museum-boat of the Art Explora foundation will set sail in March, with its first stop scheduled in Malta from March 21st to 31st. This was announced by its founder Frédéric Jousset (owner of the Beaux Arts & Cie group) on February 1st at the Museum of the Navy, in the presence of Olivier Poivre d’Arvor, who praised the « universal message » conveyed by this large-scale project. Completely free, Art Explora’s traveling cultural festival is expected to last three years and will include fifteen countries and around twenty stops throughout the Mediterranean on its route. After Malta, it will be Venice from April 17th to 23rd before a major inaugural event in Marseille, from June 6th to 19th. The catamaran will then dock in the Old Port to welcome up to 2,000 visitors.
