In 2022, the dry port of Adétikopé received 7,339 containers and 6,364 trucks, which illustrates its growing importance in the sub-region. The arrival of these major maritime players should further increase its performance.

The Dry Port of the Adétikopé Industrial Platform in Togo welcomes giants of global maritime transport. The announcement comes from Edem Kokou Tengue, the Minister of the Maritime Economy, who chaired a discussion session with the stakeholders concerned on February 28.

Among these carriers, there is notably the French CMA CGM, the Italian-Swiss MSC, the Danish MAERSK, the Japanese ONE, and the Singaporean PIL. “The process of transferring transit containers from the seaport to the PIA dry port has been thoroughly evaluated […] Although it has room for improvement, I am delighted that shipping giants like MSC, MAERSK, CMA CGM, PIL and ONE, representing more than 90% of the market, have joined our dry port.” rejoiced the minister.

The PIA dry port aims to become a strategic hub for commercial and logistical exchanges in West Africa, recalls TogoFirst. Functional since 2022, the platform can store 12,500 TEUs and offers a direct connection to the Port of Lomé (from which it is 27 km), as well as the economic zones and border posts of Togo.
