The Spanish maritime transport and logistics group MPG consolidates its presence in the Moroccan kingdom with two offices in Casablanca and Tangier, marking the start of an ambitious expansion strategy in Africa and the Middle East.
The Spanish company MPG, a world leader in maritime transport, logistics and special cargo processing, announced the opening of two offices in Morocco, one in Casablanca and the other in the city of Tangier.
In a press release, the MPG group explained that « the decision to set up in Morocco was not taken by chance, but was the result of an in-depth study of the Moroccan market, which enjoys an interesting infrastructure and a strategic geographical position ».
With this step, the Spanish company, part of the Pérez y Cía Group, launched its expansion strategy in Africa and the Middle East. The opening of its new offices in Morocco will open up other investment horizons in North Africa in the first instance, before moving on to the Middle East region.
It should be recalled that MPG Group is seeking to consolidate its presence; implementing an ambitious growth strategy in the area that will allow it to reap major gains and achieve significant growth in the field of logistics and transport.
In this sense, the Spanish operator will make the most of the development and growth opportunities offered by the regions of Africa and the Middle East, according to the same statement.
Why bet on Morocco?
The MPG Group’s commitment to Morocco is due firstly to the fact that the Kingdom facilitates the expansion of the Spanish company in its territory, thanks to the simplification of procedures, secondly to the country’s advanced logistics infrastructure and thirdly to its strategic position as the gateway to Africa, 15 km from Spain.
Opting for the cities of Casablanca and Tangier as two subsidiaries of the MPG Group in Morocco was a decision supported by the fact that they are hubs and very important logistics centres in the region, in addition to the strategic geographical position and the logistics infrastructure developed in the two Moroccan cities.
On the one hand, the Casablanca office will offer MPG an ideal space to be located in the heart of the action and close to the financial and commercial centres. On the other hand, the Tangier office will benefit from a constantly growing economic fabric, with access to infrastructures, modern technologies and great business opportunities.
Its new expansion that has now reached Africa « will allow MPG Group to enhance services for its clients in the region; capitalising on emerging growth opportunities and meeting the growing demand for high quality logistics services worldwide », as underlined Anouar El Hassan, manager of the Moroccan branch.
