On May 21, Neptunalia, a major forum dedicated to the protection of the Mediterranean Sea, will be organized at the Neptune Palace in Toulon. At the Marseille Swimmers’ Circle this Monday, the Racing club of Toulon and the CNM unveiled the program and objectives of this free forum.

Monday afternoon in Marseille, the RCT and the CNM unveiled the program for the first edition of the Neptunalia international forum, which will take place next Tuesday. This project aims to safeguard the environment and more particularly to protect the Mediterranean Sea.
On the program of this forum, sponsored by the Ministry of Sports, discussions with specialists, scientists and politicians. “We want to reach as young an audience as possible,” says François Pesenti, executive director of the RCT.
With its Rugby Cœur Toulonnais foundation, the Top 14 club, chaired by Bernard Lemaître, wanted to commit to the environment. “The Mediterranean has nourished our culture and the history of the club,” recalls François Pesenti. The Mediterranean Sea protection program was launched by the RCT in August 2022. With three objectives: raise awareness, act and unite.
Christian Califano as ambassador
Among the actors of the project, Christian Califano. The former French international with 72 caps knows this sea well. A native of Toulon, he was first a diver before making a career in oval ball. Also founder of the Proseatech environment association, he also carries out awareness-raising operations, such as waste collection. This forum will take place as a prelude to the United Nations Ocean Conference (Unoc), which will take place in June 2025 in Nice.
