Tunisia benefits from more than 1,300 km of coastline, home to 11 million people, who rely heavily on coastal and marine resources for their livelihoods. The sectors concerned are coastal tourism, seafood, maritime transport, shipbuilding, marine energy production, offshore oil and gas services, submarine cable management, extraction of marine materials, or even maritime insurance and banking services.

The blue economy constitutes an opportunity for sustainable development and wealth creation for Tunisia, through sustainable use of marine and coastal resources for economic growth, improved livelihoods and jobs, and ecosystem health marine and coastal. It therefore promotes economic growth, social inclusion, the preservation or improvement of livelihoods and the environmental viability of the sea and coastal areas.

It is in this context that the Tunisian association of nautical industries, the CONECT Sousse regional office and the regional professional transport and logistics group are organizing an event around the blue economy, challenges and perspectives on May 24 and 25. at Golf Kantaoui in Sousse.
