The objective of this 75-minute session is to present to Member States the main results and recommendations of two major meetings of the ocean community held in 2024 – namely the 2024 Ocean Decade Conference (Barcelona, April 2024) and the “Immersed” Conference. in Change’ (San José, June 2024). The event will then explore how recommendations and outcomes from these events related to ocean science and knowledge can be translated into concrete and impactful initiatives that will support policy and decision-making in the lead-up to the United Nations Ocean Conference in 2025 (Nice, June 2025) and beyond until the end of the Ocean Decade.
