As part of the #MissionUNOC, the Tara Ocean Foundation and the University of Liverpool, with the support of the BNP Paribas Foundation, organized a unique event dedicated to the conservation of #Antarctica.
The goal? To present upcoming scientific findings from Tara’s passage through Antarctica during the Microbiomes Mission, and to understand how these results could support ongoing discussions within the #CCAMLR – the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources – where proposals for Marine Protected Areas have been stalled for nearly 10 years.
Alongside Antarctic conservation experts, we explored how this scientific data can contribute to the creation of Marine Protected Areas to safeguard a unique and fragile ecosystem.
