From June 9 to 11, 2025, the Innovation Hub in Nice will host over 300 stakeholders from the maritime sector during the Nice Ocean Business Forum. This call for applications aims to identify innovative companies and sustainable solutions that will be showcased throughout the event.
An Economic Forum Rooted in the Blue Economy
Organized by the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, in partnership with the Sud Region, Rising Sud, Team Nice Côte d’Azur, and the Pôle Mer Méditerranée, the forum is held in the lead-up to the Third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC-3), taking place in Nice from June 9 to 13, 2025.
The forum will gather more than 300 participants—companies, institutions, international delegations, experts, and key decision-makers—to foster dialogue and business opportunities within the blue economy sector.
Call for Projects: Showcasing Sustainable Innovation
The call targets companies based in the Sud Region that are active in the maritime economy and/or propose innovative projects in the marine and maritime fields. Eligible projects must demonstrate:
- Sectoral relevance
- Maturity of the proposed innovation
- Market potential
- Environmental impact
Eligible domains include:
- Marine biotechnology & sustainable aquaculture
- Marine renewable energy (tidal, wave, etc.)
- Artificial intelligence applied to the maritime sector
- Marine environmental protection (ecological impact reduction, resource management, coastal protection, etc.)
- Sustainable port infrastructure management
- Navigation technology & automation (marine drones, smart navigation, etc.)
- Maritime transport & logistics (carbon footprint reduction, alternative propulsion systems, etc.)
Selected companies will benefit from a dedicated exhibition space, pitch sessions, workshops, and thematic roundtables. They will also have access to qualified B2B meetings with national and international economic actors and enjoy increased visibility through event media and communication platforms.

A Strategic Opportunity for the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis
By integrating the Nice Ocean Business Forum into UNOC-3, the Metropolis aligns its economic and environmental priorities. This initiative supports its attractiveness strategy in blue tech and the blue economy, while promoting local entrepreneurial ecosystems. It complements efforts like the Blue Innovation Challenge and initiatives related to the 2025 Year of the Ocean.
