From February to May, the Under The Pole educational caravan is traveling across Brittany, making stops at various high schools to engage students in the wonders and challenges of marine ecosystems and polar scientific expeditions.
A Mobile, Immersive Experience
Stationed for 2–3 days at each school, the caravan offers small student groups an immersive experience using videos, virtual reality, and first-hand expedition stories. Meanwhile, complementary activities take place outside the caravan or in classrooms.
Led by two science communicators, students explore:
- Life beneath polar waters
- Technological innovations for underwater exploration and research
- Extreme environment expeditions from planning to execution
- Deep-sea ecosystems, like mesophotic coral reefs
The setup includes expedition gear, educational kits, maps, photos, and multi-sensory materials, making science tangible and exciting.
