The challenges related to sustainability and ecological transition in many regions worldwide, including North Africa and Tunisia, will be at the heart of the 28th edition of Ecomondo—the leading event in Europe and the Mediterranean basin for the green, blue, and circular economy. It will be held from November 4 to 7, 2025, at the Rimini Exhibition Centre in Italy.

The event will focus on AI and digitalization, recycling, eco-design, satellite monitoring, industrial decarbonization, innovation, skills, and emerging professions essential for the ecological transition.

Organized by the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), the event will cover 30 pavilions and 166,000 square meters of exhibition space. It will host delegations from around the world and aims to promote dialogue among industry, institutions, and the research community to identify pathways that reconcile economic growth with environmental and social protection through ethical and inclusive development models.

The 28th edition of Ecomondo aims to strengthen its international scope by consolidating its role as a global platform and hub for the circular economy and ecological transition. Target countries for 2025 include Germany, Spain, Poland, Serbia, Turkey, the Netherlands, as well as North African countries—Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria—and Middle Eastern countries.

Conference Program on Circular Economy, Recycling, Eco-Design, and Innovation

Ecomondo 2025 will address six major thematic areas: waste as a resource, the water cycle and blue economy, site and soil restoration, bioenergy and agriculture, earth observation and environmental monitoring, and circular and regenerative bioeconomy. Additionally, the Lorenzo Cagnoni Award for Green Innovation will honor the most groundbreaking technologies presented at the event.

Key topics will also include advanced recycling of strategic raw materials, eco-design and new packaging solutions to reduce impact throughout the supply chain without compromising functionality, artificial intelligence and digitalization to accelerate the ecological transition, new satellite monitoring technologies to combat climate change impacts, and industrial decarbonization, with particular focus on textiles, energy, electrical and electronic equipment waste, and the construction sector.

Specialized Districts Showcasing Sectoral Innovations

Several specialized districts will host sectoral innovations, including marine ecosystems, sustainable cities, ethical fashion textiles, the paper industry, and trenchless infrastructure technologies. There will also be an innovation district dedicated to startups and green tech, as well as a district focused on future professions in the green economy.

The 2025 edition of Ecomondo will also mark the return of SAL.VE, the Ecological Vehicle Biennale, organized in partnership with the Italian Automotive Industry Association (ANFIA). The Green Economy General Assembly will also return, organized by the Foundation for Sustainable Development and promoted by the Italian Green Economy Council in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, under the patronage of the European Commission.
