(Togo will host the BlueInvest Africa Forum from October 15 to 16, 2025, an event dedicated to promoting investment in the blue economy across the continent. The announcement was made official by the European Union, the forum’s initiator, which aims to connect African maritime entrepreneurs with international investors.

The 2025 edition will focus on responsible and sustainable investments between Africa and Europe, with the goal of strengthening synergies between innovative project leaders and financial stakeholders. According to the organizers, “this edition offers a unique opportunity to forge strategic partnerships, access new sources of funding, and accelerate sector growth.”

In this context, the event will showcase solutions across several key segments of the blue economy, including ocean conservation, marine energies, fishing, aquaculture, and maritime transport.

A total of 25 African projects led by young entrepreneurs have been selected for this edition, including a Togolese project focused on aquaponics. These startups, active in waste management, marine biotechnology, and sustainable fishing, will present their solutions at the forum with the goal of securing technical and financial support.

The hosting of this event in Togo was announced last March by the European Union ambassador to Lomé, Gwilym Jones, during a meeting with the then head of government, Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé. The initiative to host this forum is part of the country’s strategy to leverage its maritime potential, aiming to establish Togo as a sub-regional logistical and economic hub.
