Organised by: CPMR-IMC
Webinar Objective
This cross-fertilisation webinar aimed to strengthen the links between the BlueMissionMed (BMM) project and the Interreg Euro-MED programme. The goal was to align strategies and exchange practices between governance projects of the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean & Waters” and Interreg, as well as thematic projects, with a shared focus on sustainable water management, restoration, and depollution in the Mediterranean.
Key Topics Discussed
- Presentation of the EU Mission “Restore Our Ocean & Waters” and the role of the Lighthouse Mission (Loïc Blanchard, DG RTD)
- Showcase of BlueMissionMed (BMM): achievements, innovative solutions for water depollution, and support mechanisms for solution providers and seekers
- Overview of the Interreg Euro-MED Programme and its four thematic missions (Isabelle Nobio, JS Euro-MED)
- Focus on the ISE Mission: community engagement through the ISEC Hub and upcoming Policy Labs on sustainable water (partners D4I and C4I)
- Strategic Synergy Building: open discussion with stakeholders and feedback from other Euro-MED missions
Interactive Session & Synergies
The second part of the webinar featured a collaborative workshop with Interreg Euro-MED thematic projects. Using an interactive Miró board, projects were invited to present their solutions and explore the opportunity to be included in the BlueMissionMed expert and services catalogue. This activity aimed to increase visibility, foster capitalisation, and promote inter-programme learning.
Representatives from other Euro-Mediterranean missions also participated as observers, gaining valuable insights into tangible contributions to water management in the Mediterranean.
