The environmental trust fund « The MedFund » has just launched a call for expressions of interest for the management and co-manager structures of protected marine areas (AMP) in the Mediterranean (Tunisia, Albania, Algeria, Croatia, Egypt, Greece, Lebanon, Morocco, Montenegro, and Turkey). The objective is to benefit from technical and financial support, over two phases, to sustainably strengthen their management.
According to a press release, published on Thursday by the Coastal Protection and Planning Agency (APAL), this technical and financial support is intended for officially created or in the process of being created AMPs, validated Management Plans, or management guidance documents, and the Management Teams in place. For NGOs, a letter of approval from the national authorities is mandatory.
The Agency called, in this context, on candidates interested in this opportunity to express their interests, for the first phase, no later than July 31, 2026, via the link contact@themedfund.org.
Candidates who have expressed their interest in phase 1 can, on request, benefit from support from the « MedFund » to prepare their file in phase 2. The deadline for submission of the complete file has been set for October 2, 2026.
Created in 2015, The “MedFund” supports the implementation of management plans and accompanies actors committed to the preservation of the Mediterranean. It embodies the commitment of several Mediterranean states and international environmental organizations convinced that the future of the Mediterranean and its populations requires immediate action.
