-The 11 fisheries management plans are now long-term and adaptive, strengthening the link between scientific advice and management actions.
-Fishing opportunities reflect the different stocks situations: increases when trends are positive, including the common sole in the Adriatic and the common dolphin across the Mediterranean, and restrictions when stocks remain under pressure, including the black sea bream in the Alboran Sea and the small pelagic in the Adriatic.
-New guidelines in aquaculture further reinforce a comprehensive framework of good practices covering fish welfare, environmental considerations and responsible investing.

This year also marked the first year of full implementation of the GFCMCompliance assessment program, the first meeting of the Scientific Advisory Committee for the Black Sea, and Ukraine’s first full year as a member of the GFCM.

The mid-term review of the GCM 2030 strategy highlighted a clear priority: translating regional frameworks into measurable results — for stocks, ecosystems and communities that depend on them — for a new ministerial statement MedFish4Ever in 2027.

And it was a real pleasure to work alongside the President, who always facilitates discussions with a smile and professionalism. I thank all the delegations, observers and the entire Secretariat team for their commitment and commitment throughout the week.
