The statistics are alarming: fish consumption has doubled in 50 years, nearly 80% of global trade is conducted via maritime routes, the seas are crisscrossed by communication cables, and plastic waste along with other chemical pollutants are inundating marine ecosystems. Climate change only exacerbates the situation. The Muséum’s manifesto serves as a call to action, urging citizens and policymakers to act before it’s too late.
