The Abysse Plongée association an educational camp dedicated to sport, education and ecology, Saturday May 18 and Sunday May 19, 2024 in Ghar El-Melh (Bizerte). This event is organized in partnership with the Higher Institute of Specialized Education (Ises), the Tunisian Taxonomy Association (Atutax), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF North Africa), as part of the Dive4All project with the support of Maghroum’in – ¿sogjis, and the support of the commune of Ghar El-Melh and the Regional Activities Center for specially protected areas. The camp, which focuses on the well-being of children with special needs, aims to promote the values of citizenship and social inclusion, and to raise community awareness of the importance of supporting initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life children with disabilities. The participants are 50 to 60 children with special needs, aged 8 to 14 years old, future specialized educator students, Ises staff and volunteers. The first day will begin with a cleaning campaign on the Ghar El beach. Melh followed by a recycling workshop to learn how to transform waste into art objects. The edutainment and physical activities (beach games) will be provided by members of the Abysse Plongée and Atutax associations.

The second day will begin with a 2 to 3 km hike supervised by a qualified guide, starting from the beach of Sidi Ali El-Mekki, an opportunity to raise awareness and explain to children the importance of preserving the fragile coastal ecosystem by discovering the fauna and Flora. VI This initiative is of particular importance insofar as it will contribute to improving the quality of life of children with disabilities. Sport and education are powerful catalysts for change, promoting the physical, emotional and social development of target children.

With a focus on social inclusion, Abysse is committed to creating opportunities for these children to fully participate in community life. The organization of this camp is part of a broader approach aimed at raising public awareness of the challenges facing these children and encouraging the implementation of policies and practices favorable to their development. Abysse Plongée is an association whose main activities consist of promoting social inclusion through initiatives focused on sport and culture. The Dive4A project seeks to create a world where every child, regardless of their abilities, has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Citizens, associations, public actors, private companies and media are all invited to take part in this action.
