A new boost for the economy of the Analanjirofo region. The « Manompana Green Port » project was launched on February 28, thanks to the initiative of the municipal council of this commune located in the district of Soanierana Ivongo. This ecological port, designed to address the environmental and economic challenges of the region, aims to strengthen the local economy.
Once operational, it will create sustainable jobs, with over two hundred direct and indirect positions expected. It will also promote the development of ancillary activities such as ecotourism and the enhancement of marine products, improve local infrastructure to better adapt to the effects of climate change, and benefit fishermen, travelers, and the entire population and economic actors of the region.
This ambitious project will be located on the Bay of Manompana. It is based on the principles of the blue economy, aiming to create a port infrastructure that respects marine ecosystems while benefiting local communities. It represents a transition to an integrated economic and ecological model, where development no longer comes at the expense of the environment but in harmony with it.
This municipal initiative is supported by both public and private partnerships. The municipal council calls on investors, institutions, and organizations committed to environmental protection and sustainable development to participate in this innovative project.
