Tehran (IRNA)- August 12 has been designated World Caspian Sea Day. A time to celebrate the world’s largest lake.
On August 12, 2006, the 5 coastal countries of the Caspian Sea signed the Regional Convention for the Protection of the Environment of the Caspian Sea, known as the Teheran Convention. They pledged to respect the provisions of this treaty, and celebrated the day as an important environmental event.
