A working session dedicated to the presentation of a 75-megawatt wind power project was held on Monday at the Bizerte Governorate headquarters, chaired by Governor Salem Ben Yaacoub. Participants included representatives from ABO Energy Tunisia, Wissam Dkhil and Mejdi El Mazni, as well as the Governorate’s Secretary-General, Abdelatif Hamid.
According to the company’s representative, the project will generate electricity equivalent to the energy consumption of approximately 75,000 residents. Its preliminary cost is estimated at TND 270 million. The initiative is expected to create both direct and indirect jobs and contribute to local development, particularly through the improvement of infrastructure.
The Governor of Bizerte reaffirmed his support for such projects, which are aligned with the national energy transition strategy aiming to raise the share of renewable energy to 35% of Tunisia’s energy mix by 2030. He called for compliance with legal procedures and effective coordination among the relevant authorities to ensure the project’s success.
ABO Energy Tunisia, active since 2018 in renewable energy development, is part of the German ABO Energy Group, which specializes in wind, solar, and energy storage projects.
