The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and the World Bank (WB) recently examined the progress of the fourth supervision mission of the Program for Results “Development of the Blue Economy in Morocco” (PPR EB). This mission highlighted progress made in several key areas, including the creation of aquaculture farms, scientific research for sustainable management of fisheries resources, and the promotion of blue tourism.

The mission made it possible to validate the roadmap and the work plan for the development of the National Strategy for the Development of the Blue Economy (SNEB) during the first meeting of the Technical Committee. In addition, regional workshops were organized to raise awareness among local stakeholders and present technical assistance on the design of coastal clusters and the development of a blue sector growth index.

The concerted efforts of the government and the WB demonstrate a strong commitment to a sustainable blue economy, thereby contributing to the achievement of Morocco’s sustainable development goals.
