Lomé (© 2025 Afriquinfos) – Togo will host the BlueInvest Africa Forum from October 15 to 16, 2025, an event dedicated to promoting investment in the blue economy across the African continent. Launched by the European Union, the forum aims to connect African entrepreneurs in the maritime sector with international investors.
The 2025 edition will focus on responsible and sustainable investments between Africa and Europe, with the ambition of strengthening synergies between innovative project developers and financing stakeholders.
“This event offers a unique opportunity to forge strategic partnerships, gain access to new funding sources, and accelerate the growth of the sector,” say the organizers.
The forum will showcase solutions across several key segments of the blue economy, including ocean conservation, marine energy, fisheries, aquaculture, and maritime transport.
In total, 25 African projects led by young entrepreneurs have been selected to participate. These startups, active in waste management, marine biotechnology, and sustainable fishing, will present their solutions during the event with the goal of securing both technical and financial support.
The announcement that Togo would host the forum was made in March 2025 by EU Ambassador to Lomé, Gwilym Jones, during a meeting with former Prime Minister Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé.
