The Vice President of the Aquaculture Center, Foued Naqbi, announced to the Tunisie Numérique correspondent that fish production from floating cages has seen a significant decline compared to previous years, dropping from 30,000 tons to 15,000 tons this year.
The number of active companies in the sector has also decreased, falling from 30 to 12.
Naqbi attributed this drop in production to several factors, including climate change and inconsistencies in feed quality.
