The Ministry of Environment announced the launch of a national competition to select the best initiatives to combat plastic pollution on its website, specifying that applications must be submitted no later than April 22, 2025.

In a statement published on its official Facebook page, the ministry added that the competition is organized in cooperation with the World Bank under the theme « Promoting the Circular Economy to Support Ecological Transition and Reduce Plastic Pollution. »

The competition is open to civil society, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, municipalities, academic and educational institutions, scientific and innovation research institutions, as well as individual researchers. The project must have a positive environmental impact and support ecological transition and sustainable development in its various fields.

Participants in the competition will receive merit certificates from the Ministry of Environment and the World Bank, medals, and prizes for the winning project in each category, in addition to the promotion of the winning projects on the Ministry of Environment’s website and social media platforms.
