The court in Nuuk, Denmark, decided on Thursday to keep the American-Canadian whale conservationist in detention until September 5. Paul Watson is accused by Tokyo of injuring a Japanese sailor during an anti-whaling campaign in the Antarctic in 2010. The defense of the 73-year-old activist, founder of Sea Shepherd and the ocean foundation that bears his name, considers his continued detention disproportionate and is calling for his release.
