The use of treated wastewater and the accelerated rehabilitation of the El Hamma Oasis » were the focus of a recent technical meeting held at the headquarters of the Commissionerate of Agriculture, Hydraulic Resources, and Fisheries in Gabès.
During this meeting, emphasis was placed on the need to soon complete the feasibility studies for these two projects in order to include them in the budget for the year 2025.
The utilization of wastewater in the region, with a volume ranging between 120 and 150 liters per second, and currently being discharged into the sebkhas, will address the irrigation water shortage observed in the El Hamma and El Hamma-West oases, stated the participants in this meeting to the TAP Agency.
