Tunisia will participate for the first time with a delegation of 10 SMEs and start-ups specialized in development and Industry 4.0 technologies, at the global professional industrial technology fair “Hannover Messe 2024” which will be held from April 22 to 26, 2024, in Germany.

Speaking at a press conference held on Thursday in Tunis, the Director General of Industrial and Technological Infrastructure at the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines, Nada Lachaal, stated that this participation is part of the initiative “Towards Industry 4.0 in Tunisia” with the support of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in coordination with the Tunisian Embassy in Germany.

She continued that an official delegation, led by the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Industry, Ahlem Béji, will be present and composed of key players in the innovation and Industry 4.0 ecosystem.

Lachaal also emphasized that a Tunisian pavilion of approximately 100 m2 will be located in the digital ecosystem section on the theme of “Industry 4.0”.

She further explained that this pavilion aims to promote the Tunisian industry and Tunisia as a country conducive to industrial investment, to establish international industrial or strategic partnerships with companies and organizations participating in this fair.

It also aims to encourage Tunisian companies to join the Industry 4.0 initiative, to learn about the new technologies presented on this occasion, and to promote the Tunisian innovation and Industry 4.0 ecosystem to German and European companies and organizations.

The Hannover 2024 fair has become a must-attend event where all new technologies and key sectors of industry, research and development, industrial automation, digitalization, production and service technologies, energy technologies, robotics, logistics computing, and industrial software are presented.

More than 4,000 exhibitors, 300 start-ups, 14,000 products and solutions, and 130,000 visitors will be present at this fair which will be animated by the emergence of new technologies related to Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, carbon-neutral production, energy and green hydrogen.

It is worth noting that since 2019, Tunisia has been participating as a visitor to this fair with a delegation composed of business leaders, industrial SMEs, and start-ups. The objective was to draw inspiration from the experience of international exhibitors on new professions, new skills, and new technologies on an international scale, in the era of the 4th industrial revolution.
