Have you heard of Bernard, the blue whale? Would you like to do something to help him? You can—by signing our petition!
The oceans are home to the most extraordinary creatures. From coral reefs to kelp forests and the deep sea, the ocean teems with life.
The best way to protect the oceans is to create marine reserves. These are protected areas—underwater havens where fish, mammals, and plants are safe, from the tiny sea cucumber to the enormous blue whale.
We must urge our governments to create a vast network of marine reserves as soon as possible, to protect the oceans from the threats of deep-sea mining, pollution, and overfishing. That’s exactly what Bernard is asking us:
You must help us protect the oceans.
You must help us live safely.
“But how, Bernard, how? I’m just a tiny human!”
Yes, you are very small.
Especially compared to a blue whale.
But you can still make a difference.
Sign Greenpeace’s petition.
And spread the word.
