(Togo First) – Togo is set to host the inaugural edition of « The Power of L.A.W. » from February 5 to 8, 2025, in Lomé. This event, organized by the International Center for Arbitration and Mediation (CIAM) in collaboration with the International Association for the Development of Arbitration in Africa (AIDAA), will bring together experts from the maritime and financial sectors worldwide.
The meeting will focus on discussions about African perspectives on alternative dispute resolution in the financial and maritime sectors. Scheduled over a week, the gathering will feature debates, panels, and workshops led by internationally renowned practitioners.
According to CIMA, the event will also highlight the strategic position of the Togolese capital, Lomé, which hosts leading regional financial institutions such as the West African Development Bank (BOAD), the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (BIDC), the headquarters of Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI), and the Common Reinsurance Company of CIMA Member States (CICA-RE).
Additionally, the Port of Lomé, a key player in Togo’s economic development and a preferred hub for business in Africa, will be at the center of discussions.
According to the organizers, the selection of Lomé to host this event is due to its role as a business hub in Africa.
