The Maritime Intervention Fund (FIM) was set up in 2022 to support local projects and support the development of sustainable maritime activities. It implements the priorities of the new National Sea and Coastal Strategy 2023-2029.

Following the success of the FIM calls for projects in 2022 and 2023, which enabled nearly 150 winners to be approved, the fund is being renewed in 2024 for a budget allocation of around 15 million euros.

The FIM complements other sources of public funding around three priority areas of development:

coastal development in favor of maritime heritage and activities;

blue economy development and planning;

training for maritime professions.

The objective is to support the projects of local partners (communities, associations, public establishments, chambers of commerce, groups of businesses or companies, etc.) by implementing the actions identified by the maritime planning work at the scale of the facades or overseas basins.

The call for projects for 2024 is now open, project leaders have the opportunity to submit their applications online until April 2, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.

“The maritime intervention fund materializes the realization of our commitments. It is fundamental to enable us to achieve the four major priorities of the SNML which are carbon neutrality, biodiversity, equity and economic development” underlines Hervé Berville Secretary of State for the Sea and Biodiversity.
