On April 8, 2025, the Embassy of Monaco in the United States co-hosted an event titled « Blue Talk – Getting Ready for the Third UN Ocean Conference », alongside the diplomatic missions of France and Costa Rica, at La Maison Française in Washington, D.C. This initiative is part of the lead-up to the Third United Nations Ocean Conference, scheduled to take place in Nice in June 2025, as well as the Blue Economy and Finance Forum, which will be held in Monaco on June 7–8.
H.E. Maguy Maccario Doyle, Monaco’s Ambassador to the U.S., reaffirmed the Principality’s commitment to ocean conservation. She presented two initiatives supported by the Prince Albert II Foundation: the ReOcean Fund, an investment fund targeting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 14, and the Blue Economy Index, a financial index designed to guide capital toward companies that are driving a regenerative blue economy.
A video message from Prince Albert II was screened during the event, emphasizing the strategic importance of the UN Ocean Conference and the Monaco forum in advancing the transition toward a sustainable ocean economy.
Two panel discussions brought together experts in maritime law, marine conservation, and representatives from the World Bank to explore ocean governance and investment in marine protection.
