On the occasion of the World Ocean Conference in June 2025 in Nice, Ifremer is partnering with the Dassault Systèmes Foundation and the National Research Agency to launch the « My Ocean in Shorts » initiative!
This awareness campaign is aimed at young people aged 14 to 18, in French, English, or Spanish. The goal is to give them a voice as global citizens through the creation of a video under one minute (a short), where they will express their connection to the ocean world and engage in a dialogue with scientific experts.

The shorts will be created until April 30, 2025, to kickstart discussions about the Ocean within schools, families, or among friends. They will be published progressively on Ifremer’s YouTube channel.

Reminder of YouTube Terms & Conditions
The service terms and YouTube Community Guidelines fully apply to the videos submitted for the contest. These can be reviewed here and here.

Editorial and Technical Guidelines
The « My Ocean in Shorts » videos must be between 15 and 60 seconds long (YouTube guidelines).
They should be filmed in portrait/vertical format with a smartphone.
They can be made in French, English, or Spanish, with active subtitles.
They must follow these three steps in order:

  1. State your first name, city, and country.
  2. Express your feelings and your connection to the Ocean.
  3. Ask an important question about the future of the Ocean, starting with:
« The question I would like to ask scientists is: » / « La question que je souhaiterais poser aux scientifiques, ce serait: » / « La pregunta que me gustaría hacer a los científicos es: »

One or more young people can create a short together.
