Rowing OFFSHOARE is a project led by a German-Austrian women’s team participating in the World’s Toughest Row in December 2025. This extreme 2,800-nautical-mile race from La Gomera to Antigua, is not only a test of endurance but also a powerful platform to raise awareness and funds for ocean conservation and education.

Over the course of 40–50 days at sea, the team will row in two-hour shifts, living entirely self-sufficiently on their ocean rowing boat, which is equipped with solar panels, a water desalination system, and essential provisions. As part of this journey, the team is collaborating with scientists to collect valuable marine data using methods specifically tailored to the vessel’s unique conditions. With its slow speed and shallow draft, the boat provides promising opportunities for scientific measurements that can contribute to ocean research.

Beyond the physical challenge, Rowing OFFSHOARE seeks to build awareness, spark meaningful conversations, and inspire action for the future of the seas. By engaging a diverse audience, the project highlights the urgent need for marine conservation while showcasing the power of resilience, teamwork, and environmental stewardship.
