Ousmane Sonko wants to regularize occupations of the maritime public domain
Public maritime domains will no longer be exploited anarchically in Senegal. Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko has just signaled the end of recess. Thus, he now wants to regulate the titles and occupations of the Maritime Public Domain (DPM) in the country’s capital. To achieve this, an ad hoc commission was established within the Prime Minister’s Office to carry out the various activities.
It should be noted that the commission installed is under the chairmanship of the Minister, Secretary General of the Government. This is headed by the Minister of Finance and Budget, with the Secretariat coordinated by the Minister of Town Planning, Territorial Communities and Regional Planning.
Furthermore, the role of the commission is to carry out a careful verification of the conformity and legality of the titles issued and the occupations carried out in the targeted localities. The control group was subdivided into two, one based on legal and technical aspects, and the other on social and environmental impacts. They will work for a period of two months from the date of the order.
