Organized on Friday, January 24 in partnership with UnaTerra, the event brought together 30 international leaders from major companies, with the goal of addressing the many issues related to plastic pollution, particularly focusing on solutions. The development of a sustainable blue economy is one of the key areas the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation is focused on.

Taking Action Against Plastic Pollution
Plastic pollution has devastating consequences on human health and ecosystems, which cannot be improved by the efforts currently deployed globally. It is up to the private sector, civil society, and innovators to create positive change.

« The investment of economic forces is essential to solving the major crisis posed by plastic. And I believe this investment in turn presents a significant opportunity for innovation, development, and progress. (…) It is a vital threat, against which we are not defenseless: that is why we are here. To act, to engage the necessary means, and to mobilize the right willpower. Because the means and willpower exist, » emphasized Prince Albert II during his opening speech.

The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation also participated in several events related to the blue economy, such as the Monaco House organized by the Attractiveness Cell of the Princely Government.
