Today, on February 8, 2024, a working session took place regarding the first phase of the study for the project aimed at protecting the northeast coastline of the island of Djerba from marine erosion. This initiative is part of the Coastal Protection Program (PPLT4), funded through Tunisian-German cooperation.
During this session, a technical presentation was conducted on the environmental situation diagnosis of the region, identifying the causes of marine erosion and the rapid regression of coastlines on one hand, and presenting several technical solutions capable of protecting the area and rehabilitating and developing the beaches on the other.
Participants discussed the results of this initial phase of the study and provided their observations to be considered by the consortium of consulting firms during the preparation of the final report for this phase.
