Christmas animated short films have been a tradition at Disney. As early as 1927, even before the creation of Mickey Mouse, Disney released an animated short featuring its first character, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Since then, Mickey, Donald, and Pluto have been featured many times in Christmas-themed stories, such as Mickey’s Christmas Carol (1932), Pluto’s Christmas Tree (1952), and Merry Christmas, Mickey and Donald (2016).
