The International Fisheries Industry Forum in Morocco will be held on May 15 in Casablanca, at the initiative of the National Federation for the Transformation and Development of Fishery Products (FENIP) and Swiss Import Promotion Program (SIPPO).

The International Fisheries Industry Forum, which will be organized under the theme “Collaboration for Sustainability: Crossed Perspectives of Research, Development, and the Private Sector”, will bring together the main players in the fishing industry, representatives governments, researchers, private sector companies and international partners to explore pathways to sustainability in the fisheries sector, says a press release from the organizers.

The National Blue Economy Development Strategy (SNEB) aims to position Morocco as a leader in the sustainable management of maritime and coastal resources, thus propelling its economic development, while preserving its natural capital for future generations.

This 2024 edition of the Forum aims to share the progress made by Morocco and other brotherly and friendly countries, in the responsible exploitation and preservation of marine resources, in order to create a dynamic platform where public and private actors, as well as international partners will be able to exchange the best experiences and knowledge necessary to address sustainability challenges and forge innovative solutions.

The joint initiative between FENIP and SIPPO, in collaboration with the General Commission for Fisheries in the Mediterranean, demonstrates their international commitment to sustainability in the fishing sector in Morocco.

The main objective of this conference is to share experiences and propose innovative solutions to strengthen the sustainability of the fishing industry, in its 3 dimensions (economic, social and environmental), with emphasis on the entire cycle. life of seafood products. A meeting during which all stakeholders will be able to exchange and collaborate.

The Forum’s work will see the participation of national and international panelists to share their experiences (Saudi Arabia, Italy, Spain, Tunisia, Egypt, Ivory Coast and Senegal) in the field of the processing industry and product valorization. some fishing.

The event will be punctuated by highlights thanks to the participation of around 20 panelists and the organization of nearly fifty B2B meetings. In addition, several panels addressing various themes will enrich the program.
