A dive into the turmoil of the War of Independence, through the fate of those who forged their country’s history.

Atlantic, 1777. Captain Landais stands at the stern of the Flamand, all sails set. He has been tasked by Benjamin Franklin, ambassador of the Insurgent cause in France, to deliver arms to the Americans, right under the noses of the British.

After enduring English prisons and sailing around the world with Bougainville, he left the French Navy in a blaze of controversy, hoping to find on the other side of the ocean the recognition that had long been denied to him. A consummate sailor, this tormented and ambitious man, haunted by the shadow of his rival John Paul Jones, faces terrible storms. He must navigate the treacherous waters of jealousy and honor, risking everything in the process.
