On the banks of the Thames, where he has placed his latest sculptures—large bronze figures arranged near the river—a man listens to La Vallée d’Obermann by Liszt and remembers. He has just lost his elder sister, the pianist Anna Horberer, and memories flood back. He recalls his life on the Crozon Peninsula, along the Normandy coast, in Le Havre and Paris, always in the shadow of this brilliant woman, who from an early age was passionate about the piano, obsessed with Liszt, and driven above all by her artistic calling.

He revisits the places of their childhood and retraces the path of his sister—both feared and admired—a woman who commanded attention, captivated affections, and took everything from him, even his best friend, Stéphane. A past era comes to life again, the 1980s and 90s, filled with passions, tensions, hidden desires, travels—a life shaped by music and art.

With deep emotion, the inconsolable brother paints a portrait of his distant yet ever-present sister, of those who surrounded her—Stéphane, her son Simon, and others who remain a part of their story.
