As MaCoBioS enters its final phase, we are organizing the « Week of Blue Nature-Based Solutions » at UNESCO House in Paris from November 5 to 8. The event will highlight the work of scientists collaborating with stakeholders and maximize the outcomes of MaCoBioS and other similar initiatives. As we approach the Third United Nations Conference on the Ocean in June 2025, this event is crucial for maintaining momentum in international ocean governance.
In the context of the United Nations Decades (2021-2030) of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and Ecosystem Restoration, the 2030 targets of the CBD and IUCN for marine protection, and the launch of the Year of the Sea in France (starting September 2024), we will bring together an international community of key players from the scientific, economic, and institutional sectors through collaborative sessions designed to bridge the gap between science and policy, ensuring that our collective efforts lead to concrete solutions for protecting and restoring marine and coastal ecosystems and their biodiversity.
