Once again, the Innovation Ocean® Awards 2024 ceremony took place this Tuesday at the Vendée Globe village in Les Sables d’Olonne. The sea is a source of innovation. For its sixth edition, the Innovation Ocean® Awards brought together players in the blue economy, from project leaders to well-established companies. A total of 53 participants entered the competition, which this morning, from the Vendée Globe village in Les Sables d’Olonne, awarded the 5 winners. « Among the projects selected this year, one-third focus on providing solutions to reduce marine pollution and its impact on the oceans. Many innovations also address the decarbonization of maritime transport and boats in general, or the eco-design of nautical equipment, » revealed Crédit Maritime Grand Ouest, the event organizer.

Three Breton Companies Recognized
The 2024 winners are Groupe Legendre (35) for the Dikwe project, the first breakwater capable of converting wave energy into renewable electricity; Seawards (13) from the Seanergy Group; Littoral Énergies Partagées (56) for the Boat to Grid experiment, a collective port self-consumption system that leverages the potential of pleasure boats and dormant port infrastructure; and Alegina (85) for the valorization of shellfish waste. Grain de Sail (29) received the « Public’s Favorite Award.
