The Ministry of Environment, in collaboration with the World Bank, has launched a national competition aimed at rewarding the best initiatives to combat plastic pollution.

This competition, under the theme « Strengthening the Circular Economy to Support Ecological Transition and Reduce Plastic Pollution, » is open to a wide audience, including civil society, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, municipalities, academic institutions, and individual researchers.

The proposed initiatives must fall under one of the following three categories:

  1. Educational and awareness activities on combating plastic pollution.
  2. Initiatives to reduce plastic waste through concrete actions or projects.
  3. Innovation and sustainable solutions for recycling and tackling plastic pollution.

The competition aims to raise awareness among citizens about the challenges of plastic pollution and encourage them to adopt more environmentally responsible behaviors. It also seeks to support and highlight local initiatives that contribute to combating this issue.

The projects will be evaluated based on their environmental impact, innovation, and potential for replication, according to the Ministry of Environment. Winners will receive certificates, medals, and prizes, and their projects will be featured on the Ministry’s website and social media platforms.

Interested individuals can submit their application files via email (uttecontreleplastiqueconcours@gmail.com) by April 22, 2025. For more information, you can visit the Ministry of Environment’s website.
