Every day, plastic is leaking into our natural environment at an unprecedented rate, posing a threat to terrestrial and marine ecosystems, local economies and human health.

The tourism sector, including destinations and businesses, has an important role to play in contributing to the solution to plastic pollution. Tourism is responsible for increasing marine litter by up to 40% in some regions like the Mediterranean and, at the same time, plastic damages the aesthetics of tourist destinations, leading to major economic costs and loss of income. to tourism.

Many cities and tourism operators are already taking action to reduce plastic consumption and pollution.

We would like to invite you to a discussion on policies and initiatives that destinations and businesses can develop to keep plastic away from our sea and our nature.
