The Incheon International Ocean Forum(IIOF), the only international ocean forum in the metropolitan area, will beheld for the third time in Incheon, a global maritime logistics city.

The 3rd Incheon International OceanForum (IIOF 2022), co-hosted by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries andsponsored by Incheon Port Authority and Yonhap News, will be held from July 21to 22 at the Songdo Convensia Grand Ballroom in Incheon, the center of themaritime and port industry.

To prepare for the forum, theinauguration ceremony of the Planning Committee was held at the Incheon PortAuthority’s conference room on the 10th, and 7 experts from various fields,including △ Park Jong-tae, president of IncheonNational University, as the chairman of the Planning Committee, and △ Kwon Pyong-oh, the chair-professor of Korea Maritime& Ocean University, Hong Jong-ho, professor at Seoul National UniversityGraduate School of Environment, Kim Hyun-jung, professor of political scienceand foreign affairs at Yonsei University, Park Jae-ah, Korea branch manager ofIndonesia Ministry of Creative Economy and Tourism, Kang Sung-ho, director of KoreaPolar Research Institute, and Lee Ho-cheol, vice president of Incheon NationalUniversity, as the members of the Planning Committee, were appointed.

The Committee, launched on this day, wasformed to promote a successful forum by discussing the overall structure andoperation of the forum. At the meeting presided over by Chairman Park, theforum initiation report, selection of keynote speakers, and speaker compositionwere discussed.

The forum is planned to consist of aneve, an opening ceremony, keynote speeches, five regular sessions and onespecial session with the main theme of ‘The World Calls, The Ocean Waves’.
