Abidjan, June 22, 2026 (AIP) – Côte d’Ivoire is intensifying its South-South cooperation on the blue economy through a work mission carried out from 10 to 12 June 2026 in Mauritius and the Seychelles by the Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries, Sidi Tiémoko Touré.

This tour is part of the implementation of the Ivorian national strategy for the blue economy, considered a lever for sustainable growth, job creation and enhancement of marine and fisheries resources.

In Mauritius, the first stage of the mission, the Ivorian minister had exchanges with his counterpart Arvin Boolell Gosk, Minister of Agribusiness, Food Security, Blue Economy and Fisheries. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in fisheries, aquaculture and sustainable management of marine resources.

The Mauritian authorities have expressed their willingness to support Côte d’Ivoire in the development of its blue economy, in particular through the sharing of experience, training and joint projects. Both parties are working on the finalization of a memorandum of understanding to structure their partnership.
