The Blue Economy Department of the Collectivité and the CARIF-OTEF, in collaboration with the Territorial Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (ITSEE), will launch the first survey on the blue economy sector starting Tuesday, April 1st. All stakeholders will be invited to participate.
This study aims to provide « an objective and rigorous overview by collecting information on the various blue economy sectors, including fishing, shipyard activities, ports, maritime transport, and tourism activities that also contribute to the region’s attractiveness and job creation, » said the COM.
To better understand the economic and social challenges of this economy for the region and implement development actions, it is essential to identify the sectors and industries present in the area, their economic weight, the stakeholders involved in these sectors, industries with short- and medium-term workforce needs, and to know the employees working within it, explained the COM.
The survey is anonymous and will be partly conducted online by sending a questionnaire to professionals starting from April 1st. Blue economy stakeholders who face difficulties providing information through the platform will be invited to schedule an appointment with ITSEE investigators to collect the data. These interviews will take place from mid-April to the end of May.
