In France, 40 million plastic bottles are consumed every day. These mountains of plastic contribute to climate warming and pollution of the seabed. The “Objectif zero plastic bottles” collective has just published a website with 170 solutions to reduce this number of bottles.
Today, 58% of plastic bottles are recycled. The rest ends up in the trash at best, then in a landfill or in an incinerator, but often also in nature. It is one of the major sources of pollution in marine environments and contributes 3.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions, as much as the aviation sector. If nothing is done, plastic production is expected to triple by 2050.

On April 22, during Earth Day, a collective of associations and companies published a website objectifzerobouteilleplastique.org which lists 170 solutions to help us consume these bottles less. In particular, we find a map of France with 20,000 water points to fill our water bottle for free.

In this podcast, you will hear Muriel Papin, the general delegate of No plastic in my sea, an NGO that fights against plastic pollution, present these solutions to us. But also company managers like Jean-Luc Schneider, director of Eurocom, specialist in solutions for major events, particularly sporting events, Christophe Laffont, director of Sodastream France and Stéphane Miquel, CEO of Qwetch.

Everything you need to know about… is a daily news podcast. From Monday to Friday, the RTL editorial team explains everything you need to know about a major current event (economy, politics, environment, society, culture), with RTL reporters, correspondents and experts.
