Support for the economic and social empowerment of women working in the traditional fishing sector is the main focus of a project implemented by the Association Qarratane for Sustainable Development, Culture and Leisure (AKDDCL), with funding from the RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation.

This proiect is aimed at women working in the fisheries sector within the protected maritime and coastal area of the Kerkennah Islands, in order to strengthen their role as economic actors and partners in the sustainable management ot marine resources.

In this context, 21 training sessions were organized between October 2025 and February 2026, for the benefit of 49 women. These trainings have generated a strong participation, with 20 beneficiaries actively attending more than half of the sessions, which reflects a significant level of commitment and involvement.
