Antibois Stéphane Gamelin pays tribute to Frédéric Dumas, faithful companion of Commander Cousteau. “A modest man who lived freely until the end of his life.” It will be signed this Saturday at the Dernier Rempart bookstore.

He did not like being in the spotlight, leaving this role to Commander Jacques-Yves Cousteau, with whom he shared the extraordinary underwater odyssey and helped revolutionize diving and exploration techniques on the seventh continent. However, here is Frédéric Dumas, one of the three “Mousquemers”, as the trio he formed with the explorer in the red cap and lifelong friend Philippe Taillez, hero of a book, was nicknamed. It was the most discreet, the least known. The actor in Cousteau’s films but not a star.
